Isabella Jacomb is passionate about working as a Psychologist as I am always learning about the human condition and the different challenges that life throws us. Being able to listen and understand everyone's own unique experiences is something that constantly helps her to develop within her profession.
Her general approach to working with my clients is inspired by renowned Psychologist Carl Rogers’ theory of person-centred therapy, which is based on the qualities of unconditional positive regard, genuineness and empathetic understanding.
Having received a Masters degree in Clinical Neuropsychology, She have gained specific training and experience in the diagnostic assessment of a wide range of cognitive, developmental, behavioural, mood and anxiety disorders.
In her therapy sessions, she integrate evidence-based psychological interventions such as Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Schema Therapy and Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT), according to individual clients' presentations and the purpose for therapy.
Before practicising as a Psychologist, She was working in neuroscientific research. This has made her appreciate and be aware of the importance of being up-to-date with current empirical research as it helps me offer her clients better assessment and therapy outcomes.
