Women Mental health

Research shows that women are more frequently diagnosed with depression, particularly certain symptoms. Women are more prone to experiencing seasonal affective disorder, with depression symptoms such as excessive sleep, overeating, weight gain, and feelings of guilt, especially during winter. While men often externalize their emotional struggles, women tend to internalize them, leading to feelings of self-blame and worthlessness. Women also face mental health challenges during hormonal changes, including perinatal depression, premenstrual dysphoric disorder, and menopause-related depression, as well as during pregnancy.
